This variety hails from Russia. Bred by FGBNU, included in the State Register of the USSR in 1952.
We had a hard time finding seed for this. 2022 was our second year growing it and we felt it should be available to all.
It has a higher carotene content than the average winter squash. Bright orange flesh, almost neon in color. Most are oval to cylinder shaped, dark green with white meshing or streaks. Very sweet. Multi-purpose, can be used in soup, baked as a side, pies, and cakes. Average weight was between 2-4 Kilo.
