Senise / Peperoni di Senise-10 organically grown seeds
I.G.P (Identificazione Geografica Protetta) .(protected Italian gourmet pepper from the Basilicata region of Italy. It hails from the village of Senise (of course). Traditionally fried in olive oil and sea salt, similar to the Padron. Sometimes allowed to ripen to full red and dried to be pulverised into powder known locally as zafarano.
Once used to flavor peasant dishes now considered a specialty, gourmet pepper. Long shape with thin flesh. Contains very little moisture which makes it ideal for sun-drying. Little to no heat. SWEET!
