The name translates to Russian. This is an old heirloom variety from Russia.  It is a late tomato with very large deep red fruits of up to a pound.. Dense flesh, more meat than seeds.  This is the perfect BLT tomato. Very fragrant with musky, old fashioned taste. It would also be a great  tomato to make a deep crimson, flavorful sauce.  Imagine the ketchup this would make!
