The timeless French table tomato.
Rose de Berne
A swiss heirloom adopted and named by the French. Also known as Berner Rose. Long considered the Brandywine of Continental Europe. Hugely popular in France for gardeners and at farmer’s markets. Sometimes beautiful tomatoes like this get lost in the race to try the newer, flashier varieties. Perfect apple shaped, thin skinned, dependable producer. The pink is so deep it can fool you into thinking it’s a red. Due to the thin skin it should be picked ripe and not stored. Crack free tomatoes which produce early. Very meaty and sweet flavor. Once you grow Rose de Berne, it will be a standard in your garden every year. Bon appétit!
