This huge pink beefsteak has been in the Norton/Snell family of Somerset, Kentucky since the early 1900’s. Plants produced huge, crack-free picture perfect monsters. Some reached over 2lbs. Very old fashioned taste. Reminds me of eating tomatoes my grandfather grew when I was a child. A deep pink in color, solid flesh with a true tomato taste. Perfect balance of meatiness and juice. It’s like going back in time. One slice covers your bread when making a tomato or BLT sandwiches. Memories of a more simple time and place. I guess you could say this is what memories taste like.
