Description

Rosa de Barbastro– 10+ Organically grown seeds

This variety comes from Barbastro, a town in the commune of Aragon, Spain. Aragon is in Northern Spain along the border with France.  The Community has the highest peaks of two mountain ranges; the Pyrenees to the north and the Sistema Iberico to the south. This tomato  also known as Rosa del Somontano de Barbastro or Rosa de Huesca.

It is said to be one of the best tasting varieties in the world. In 2014 it was designated as a ‘Spanish National Brand‘ and given it’s own logo. One of the most popular tomatoes in Spain. We found it to be sweet and nice firm slices. Very few seeds with an intense pink colored skin. It produces a hefty beefsteak size perfect for sandwiches and platters.  Due to the low seed count, this will probably be the only year (2022) that we offer this variety.  Limited time offer on this one. It’s very difficult to grow stingy seed varieties with our limited space. We loved it, so will you.
