Wisconsin 55 Gold– 15 Organically grown seeds

This is a yellow/orange mutant of the red Wisconsin 55 discovered by Dr. Robert Raabe, professor emeritus UC Berkeley in a 1953/54 growout of the original red. For 50 years it was privately kept by Dr. Raabe. It is a hardy plant even under harsh conditions. Thick and meaty, suitable for canning and slicing. Seems tolerant to diseae and produces blemish free fruit most averaging 8-12 oz.

I highly recommend this especially to seed collectors. I love the history and wish more people grew it. It has the mild, easy taste of the yellows but solid slices for sandwiches. Very good eating even if you are not a collector.

We’ve been sold out of this for years and are happy to once again offer it.
